The compound guides

Tirzepatide.
Take your time.

This guide makes room for the questions behind tirzepatide: what the name means, why the preparation matters and what a licensed provider needs to consider.

Promise Peptides prescribes now through licensed U.S. providers. A provider reviews each request and decides; not everyone qualifies. U.S. patients only. Availability varies by state and treatment. Compounded medicines are not FDA-approved.

A quieter corner for a closer read.

Two hormone targets describe an ingredient. They do not choose a treatment.

Two signals, in ordinary words.

Tirzepatide acts at receptors for GIP and GLP-1. Receptors are the parts of a cell that receive signals. GIP and GLP-1 are gut hormones involved in the body’s response to food. The two names describe the medicine’s targets, rather than a score for how well it will suit someone.

Tirzepatide is the ingredient in the FDA-approved brands Mounjaro and Zepbound. Their approved uses differ. Those approvals do not cover compounded tirzepatide, which is not FDA-approved.

One ingredient is not one product.

FDA-approved tirzepatide medicines exist. Compounded tirzepatide is not FDA-approved. A compounded medicine is prepared for a patient, rather than being the approved manufactured product. Evidence and approval for a brand do not automatically cover a compounded preparation.

A provider decides whether to prescribe after reviewing a request. A pharmacy separately considers whether it can lawfully prepare the prescription. Neither decision follows from a product appearing on a website.

The safety conversation belongs here.

Common side effects in the approved medicine’s trials included nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and constipation. The safety information also discusses gallbladder problems, inflammation of the pancreas and serious allergic reactions. The pancreas is an organ involved in digestion and blood sugar.

A boxed warning, the FDA’s strongest kind, concerns thyroid tumors seen in rats. It is not known whether tirzepatide causes these tumors in people. Health history, family history and other medicines all matter to a provider’s review. This page cannot provide a complete safety assessment.

Questions before a choice.

  • Which exact medicine and form are being considered?
  • Which risks matter most given my history?
  • How would questions and side effects be handled during care?

Our weight and peptides guide starts with the goal rather than a favorite ingredient. If the two names keep getting mixed together, the semaglutide guide gives that ingredient its own space. Neither page chooses a treatment for you.

When a question needs a provider.

A consultation is a place for a licensed review of your health. It can end without a prescription. There is room for that answer too.
