Selank.
A quieter look.

If calm is what brought you to selank, there is room to read before deciding. This guide explains the limits of the research and the questions a provider must consider.

Promise Peptides prescribes now through licensed U.S. providers. A provider reviews each request and decides; not everyone qualifies. U.S. patients only. Availability varies by state and treatment. Compounded medicines are not FDA-approved.

A little space between reading and deciding.

A small human study cannot supply a complete picture of safety.

What the name describes.

Selank is a lab-made chain of seven amino acids, the building blocks of proteins. It was developed from tuftsin, a small fragment of an antibody, with three amino acids added. Antibodies are proteins involved in the body’s defenses.

It has been studied in connection with anxiety. Selank is not an FDA-approved medicine for anxiety, sleep or any other use. A reason for research and an approved treatment are different things, even when the subject is something as familiar as stress.

A limited picture of human use.

Some small human studies have compared selank with another medicine or added it to one. A study without a placebo group cannot show whether selank did better than no active treatment. A placebo is a comparison treatment with no active ingredient.

There are also laboratory and animal studies of possible brain signaling effects. Those ideas do not establish how selank acts in a person. The evidence does not justify turning the word “calm” into an expected outcome.

Unknowns deserve plain words.

Large, long-term human safety studies are missing. Interactions with other calming medicines have not been adequately worked out in people. A short list of reported problems cannot establish that a substance is safe.

The FDA’s page current as of April 22, 2026, lists selank acetate (TP-7), a form of selank, as “nominated but withdrawn.” This means the request to consider it for compounding was withdrawn. It is not FDA clearance or approval. The agency continues to flag missing safety information.

Leave room for a personal review.

Promise offers Semax/Selank consultations through licensed U.S. providers (Semax and Selank in one blend). Compounded Semax/Selank is not FDA-approved. A provider’s decision is separate from a pharmacy’s assessment of whether it can lawfully prepare a prescription.

  • What evidence matches the concern I want to discuss?
  • How do other medicines affect the review?
  • Which risks are still poorly understood?
  • What other approaches belong in this conversation?

Our sleep, calm and peptides guide starts with the everyday concern. There is no need to arrive at a consultation committed to a particular ingredient.

When a question needs a provider.

A consultation is a place for a licensed review of your health. It can end without a prescription. There is room for that answer too.
